Description
The basis of this research is the Erasmus+ ODISSEU project, which develops online gaming and digital tools to integrate asylum seekers and raise awareness about the refugee crisis in Europe through intercultural education and civic engagement. The report's findings highlight different national and European policies on civic engagement and intercultural education, and identify significant educational needs and challenges such as language barriers, stereotypes, and the lack of national policies and strategies regarding online civic engagement and intercultural education.
The report moreover presents findings from dedicated focus groups in partner countries, shedding light on the needs and challenges of students, teachers, and stakeholders. These include the need for innovative approaches to discuss global issues, the importance of empathy and understanding in addressing the refugee crisis, and the challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees in integrating into host societies.
