Companies of the film industry contribute 0.5% of their production costs (capped at GBP 40 860) to the fund. Government also contributes. Grants from the fund may be provided to individuals, freelancers, companies/organisations and higher and further education institutions.

Company levy plus matched Government contribution; employers contribute 0.5% of their core UK expenditure (capped at GBP 40 860). For each pound employers contribute to the Skills Investment Fund, Creative Skillset matches with pound from HM Treasury investment.
