Description
The report describes the EU Youth Strategy (2019-2027) focused on engaging, connecting, and empowering young people by promoting their participation in democratic life and supporting their social and civic engagement. Despite significant challenges such as youth unemployment, social exclusion, and rising mental health issues, progress has been made through initiatives like the EU Youth Dialogue, Erasmus+, and the European Solidarity Corps. These programmes encourage civic participation, promote exchanges and joint projects, and support youth work and non-formal learning to combat social exclusion and discrimination. Youth-led actions are supported and extended globally through the Youth Action Plan in EU external action (2022-2027). The EU remains committed to addressing the challenges faced by young people, with a particular focus on mental health, education, employment, and housing affordability.
