Various initiatives and policy instruments have been developed in recent years for quality, transparency and recognition of qualifications, under both the Copenhagen Process and the Bologna Process. Nonetheless, a better coordinated and more coherent approach should be developed if it is to create a European Education and VET Area.

Recognising the importance of qualifications in a more consistent manner may lead to greater transparency and the perspective mobility in quality assurance of the lifelong and life wide learning.
