Short description

This is a 5-year project that offers free training for mentors of high school pupils and students in the field of vocational education. The project encourages strengthening the skills of mentors in companies for the quality implementation of mentoring high school pupils and students that must undergo vocational/practical training within their formal educational programme. The funds (80% EU-provided, 20% SI-provided) are allocated each year to two applicants that were granted through a public tender in 2016. There is no preferential treatment.

Operation/management
The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport is in charge of the operation/management of the grant. The funds (80% EU-provided, 20% SI-provided) are allocated each year to two applicants that were granted through a public tender in 2016. The subject of the public tender was the implementation of training of mentors in accordance with the rules and objectives of the project. The budget consists of funds for the Eastern and Western cohesion region separately and is allocated to the applicants yearly.

Institutions with experiences in the field of training professionals/mentors in vocational education are eligible to obtain funds. The more experience they have in the field, the higher the chance to obtain funds.

Financing formula and allocation mechanisms
The funds are allocated yearly to two applicants who were selected via public tender in 2016. The applicants have to meet pre-determined criteria. The budget consists of funds for the Eastern and Western cohesion region separately. Only one grant in the amount of EUR 545 000 can be allocated per applicant. The funding is directly transferred to the training institutions (voucher principle) as costs reimbursement after submitting all requested documentation about the implementation of the training. Additional criteria for costs of educational activities remaining eligible for co-funding is regular course attendance.
