Description

The Italian education system is largely formalist, but a case study of a vocational education and training (VET) programme shows that personalised approaches can be introduced. Tutors work alongside teachers to provide support, and their relational professionalism advances a student-centred model. Their role involves creating tailored paths for students and providing adaptive support, transforming the curriculum into one relevant for life. The study highlights the importance of relational professionalism in facilitating innovation in formalist pedagogical cultures.
