To encourage companies to provide training to students in the shortage occupations in the crafts related system; contributing to the acquisition of skills for independent work in occupation and the development of social and entrepreneurial competences of students.
The Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Craft is responsible for the overall management, monitoring and evaluation of the instrument as well as day-to-day operation.
Micro companies and SMEs (crafts, cooperatives) employing IVET students under 18 years old in shortage occupations (chimney man, automotive sector, installers, waiters, tailors, cook, butcher, baker, carpenter)
The instrument finances apprenticeship and other forms of education and training. It applies to EQF 4 level.
State (national resources), EU funds:
2016: ESF (85% of overall public funding), national resources (15%)
2015: ERDF (85% of overall public funding), national resources (15%)
The maximum share of public co-financing:
80% in case of student remuneration
50% in case of mentor remuneration
The maximum amount a company may receive is HRK 75,000 (approx. EUR 10,000) (the highest possible support for mentor remuneration).
Funds are disbursed to all eligible applicants on the basis of the legal entitlement.
In 2016, the public funding amounted to approx. EUR 405,000 (HRK 3,000,000). This included approx. EUR 60, 750 from national resources (15% of overall public funding) and approx. EUR 344,250 of EU funding (85% of overall public funding).
In 2015, the public funding amounted to approx. EUR 432,000 (HRK 3,200,000).
