Thomas Mayr is managing director of ibw Austria, a VET research and development institute affiliated to the Austrian Economic Chamber and the Federation of Austrian Industry. ibw supports vocational education and training policy making and implementation in Austria, notably in the field of apprenticeship training. Further thematic areas in which Thomas Mayr is involved include the development of qualification frameworks and EU education policy. In Austria he is a member of the NQF steering group and of AQ Austria, the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation for higher education. At European level he is a member of UEAPME’s training board, of the EQF advisory group and of the Advisory Council on Vocational Training (ACVT). He holds degrees from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and from the College of Europe in Bruges. |
