Sean Feerick currently manages the secretariat of the European network for quality assurance in vocational education (www.eqavet.eu) based in Dublin. With a professional background in education and training, he is an experienced programme manager and policy analyst with many years of experience working with policymakers and practitioners both nationally and internationally.
He has undertaken work for the European Commission, the Council of Europe and a number of universities and national administrations on promoting the European dimension of education and training, building and monitoring quality assurance approaches in vocational education and training, reform of teacher education and communicating the results of research funded by EU projects to a wider audience of policymakers.
Recent projects have included supporting EU member states in developing and monitoring their quality assurance approaches in VET, a review of research on youth transition to the world of work on behalf of DG Research and Innovation, communicating the policy messages identified in a major FP7 project on religious diversity and the European public space on behalf of K.U Leuven and the Centre for European Policy Studies, and work with the European Lifelong Guidance Network on the place of career guidance in initial and continuing teacher education programmes.
