Jennifer McKenzie was appointed to the role of Director of the National Centre of Guidance in Education (NCGE), an agency of the Irish Department of Education and Skills, in February 2010. In this role she leads the vision and strategy of the Centre to support and develop guidance practice in all areas of education and to inform the policy of the Department in the field of guidance. Jennifer is one of the designated representatives for Ireland at the European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network (ELGPN). Jennifer chaired the Steering Group of the ELGPN from January – June 2013 as Ireland hosted the EU Council Presidency. Jennifer chaired the Quality Assurance and Evidence base cluster group of ELPGN and co-ordinated the testing of the European Resource Kit in Ireland for 2013-2014. As Director of NCGE, Jennifer collaborates with national stakeholders from all sectors in guidance, providers of lifelong learning programmes, government agencies and Non- governmental – organisations. Her role also involves co-ordination of the National Forum on Guidance and chairing various national committees focusing on development of policies for the support and provision of quality guidance in the education sector. Jennifer holds a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Psychology, as well as a Higher Diploma in Career Guidance from University College Dublin.
