Annemieke Pickles is a researcher and consultant at Ecorys Netherlands and specialised in analysing policy instruments related to the dynamics between education and the labour market, most notably in terms of mobility, lifelong learning and activation from unemployment. Prior to joining Ecorys, Annemieke worked for the American Chamber of Commerce in Belgium and a Belgian-based consultancy specialised in trade. Her experience thus combines the policy options from the perspective of the jobseekers and employees as well as employers, entrepreneurs and the role of the government in that process. Annemieke regularly conducts studies and evaluations on these subjects and has worked on assignments for various DGs and Agencies of the European Commission. She has for example recently finished a study on the relevance and stakeholder involvement of EU tools and the labour market for Cedefop. Annemieke obtained her degrees focusing on economic and social development from the University of Virginia and the University of Bath and speaks both English and Dutch fluently. |
