The Ministry of Education and Research is responsible for the overall management, monitoring and evaluation of the instrument. VET schools are responsible for day-to-day operation.

The instrument only supports apprenticeship. It applies to EQF 2-5 levels.

Financing formula and allocation mechanisms

The amount of public funding granted to a company is not fixed; it depends on a sector. In forestry, for example, a company may obtain EUR 2,050 per student per year.

Funds are disbursed to all eligible applicants on the basis of legal entitlement.

Wages of instructors/ mentors/ tutors/ in-company trainers.

Volumes of funding

The Ministry does not monitor how much of the amount allocated to study places goes to the companies.

Beneficiaries/take up

It is estimated that in 2015 and 2016, 100 and 300 companies benefited respectively (the number for 2016 is based on the ESF program PRÕM annual report).
