Under REPAS jobseekers registered by COLSAF may choose a vocational training programme. The total costs related to the training are being reimbursed by COLSAF. The financing formula is based on a percentage of eligible costs. 100% of training costs can be covered. The funding is directly transferred to the learner via her / his bank account as costs reimbursement based on the documented costs and proof of participation. Training providers should be accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic. The introduction of REPAS resurrected the training provided by COLSAF, with steady growth in the number of supported trainees. In 2018, under REPAS+, training was provided to 13 308 participants with a budget of EUR 10 247 562.

- The support is distributed by the regional offices of the Central Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (COLSAF). Decisions on particular applications are taken by Regional Employment Boards (consisting of local stakeholders including the social partners). Unemployed job seekers apply for reimbursement of training provide by a provider on a topic of their choice. Social partners (inc. trade unions and employer associations/federation) are involved in the Regional Employment Boards, organised by regional COLSAF offices and deciding about particular applications for the support.

- Dominantly short and medium-term vocational training (up to 60 days). Training specialisation and provider are being selected by the participant, from a list of accredited training providers. Jobseekers are free to choose the training course and provider then they apply for funding at the regional PES office. Their applications are assessed, based on the labour market relevance of the training, the expected contribution to JSs employability and available resources.

- An applicant, meeting pre-determined criteria, can apply for the grant. The financing formula is based on a percentage of eligible costs. 100% of training costs can be covered. A positive final examination is required in order to remain the costs of educational activities eligible for co-funding.

2018. A follow-up project REPAS+ introduced additional funding for the most vulnerable sub-groups of registered unemployed (youth and 55+). Only training provided by accredited training providers is eligible for support. The need to intensify training for the age groups of registered unemployed, with an increased need for training (youth and 55+).
