An employee who learns in any type of educational institution, while continuing to work, may be granted a study leave. For defending a thesis or taking the State exams, the employee may receive 20 days of study leave. The national law does not define who should cover which costs. The financing arrangements may be specified in employment contract or in collective agreement.

- studies in any educational institution
- defending a thesis or taking state exams

The national law does not define who should cover which costs. Employer may voluntarily (partially) cover costs of the leave, including the salary. The financing arrangements may be specified in employment contract or in collective agreement.
