llinaOlga Strietska is specialist in skills policies and systems at the Skills and Employability Department of the International Labour Organisation (ILO). Her work is particularly focused at identification and forecasting of skill needs, and related cross-country international research. She is also in charge of the skills agenda in the framework of the Green Jobs initiative.
She started her career teaching at the Central European University in Prague in 1994-1996. Between 1996 and 2003 she was Head of the Czech National Observatory of Employment and Training. In 2003-2008 she provided her expertise to facilitate the development of a number of Cedefop’s initiatives in the field of early identification of skill needs and the network Skillsnet.
She has published extensively in the field of education and training, employment and labour market, social exclusion, cultural minorities, nationalism and European affairs. She holds degrees in Sociology, Political and Economic Sciences, and in History.
