Doru Talaba is a professor in engineering at University Transilvania of Brasov and Head of the Research Lab in Industrial Informatics and Virtual Reality. After coordinating a series of projects under Tempus and Erasmus schemes, in 2005 he founded the European University – Enterprise Network with the official seat in Brussels. Currently he coordinates an Erasmus Network project that includes partners from almost all European Union countries.
In this context, he was involved in several European projects as coordinator or partner in a more general context of education and training, especially related to the cooperation between higher education and the world of employers.
Out of research in engineering, currently, his interests are focused on three main areas, namely quality of practical placement of students in enterprises, career guidance and employment mediation between the university graduates and enterprises and training for the entrepreneurship attitude.
His experience in identifying and promotion of university-enterprise cooperation mechanisms brought him frequently as a keynote speaker within various international events. He has also authored numerous publications in the areas of both engineering and university – enterprise cooperation.
