Peter Szovics Print E-mail
SzovicsPeter Szovics is a project manager at the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), the EU agency that helps to promote and develop vocational education and training. Since early 2007 he has been responsible for the sectoral approach and financing in vocational education and training, with tasks that include managing several peer-learning activities and reporting on policy. His current projects include analysing sectoral training funds in Europe, examining the ways in which individual learning accounts can be used to co-finance continuing training, and researching the use of tax incentives to promote education and training in Europe. He is also involved in several activities for the early identification of skill needs and exploring green jobs.
From 1998 to 2006, he taught at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. He has led or participated in a wide range of international education and research projects. These include the CEEPUS network on Applied Economics and Management, the Jean Monnet teaching module on monetary integration, and projects under Leonardo da Vinci, Socrates Erasmus and Interreg. As a trainer in the National Council on Economic Education (NCEE), he contributed to curriculum development and teacher training in Slovakia.
