Dr. Julia Gonzalez is Vice-rector for International Relations at the University of Deusto, Bilbao (Spain). From 1996, she was in the first group of experts in the ECTS European Credit System to become ECTS Councillors.
She elaborated, designed and is one of the General Coordinators of the European Pilot project Tuning Higher Educational Structures in Europe as from 2001. This was followed by Tuning Latin America, Tuning Russia, Tuning Georgia. At present it extends to several world regions and is translated into more than 13 languages.
She is the coordinator of a Thematic Network on Humanitarian Studies, and of the Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Humanitarian Action.
