 Robert Wilson is a Professorial Fellow and Deputy Director of the Institute for Employment Research at Warwick University in the UK. He is an economist specialising in labour market assessment and forecasting. His research is focused on the drivers of change in the patterns of demand for and the supply of skills at national and international levels. He has also researched and written on links between technological change and the demand for skills, and the relationship between pay and qualifications. He has led various projects focused on anticipating changing skill needs in Europe, including 2 pilot projects for Cedefop and the ongoing 4 Year programme. These have resulted in the development of a conceptual framework and tools for producing regular Pan European labour market and skills forecasts, which includes supply side as well as demand elements. He has acted as an international advisor on methods for anticipating changing skill needs. Rob is a member of the UK Migration Advisory Committee and the UK Commission for Employment and Skills Expert Panel.
