After her university studies in Vienna, she worked as a modern languages teacher in upper secondary VET. Following a year’s secondment in the UK, she took up a post at the Austrian Ministry of Education in the General Directorate for VET in 1989 in the units dealing with in-service teacher training and international cooperation in VET (incl. ETF, OECD, UNEVOC, Council of Europe). Her responsibilities included language learning initiatives, informing on VET systems and Cedefop’s study visits programme. From 2000 to 2004, she was seconded to Cedefop, mainly reporting on VET systems and developments. After a year back in the Austrian Ministry of Education, where her subunit focused on tasks relating to the Lisbon and Copenhagen process, she returned to Cedefop in 2005. As a member of Cedefop’s policy analysis team, she reported on progress in the Copenhagen process. Since 2007, she has contributed to different Cedefop activities and supported the director in her work on general VET policy issues.
