From 1995-2001, she worked as consultant ICT and organisational change. From 2001-2003, she followed a two year salaried traineeship at the Post-Master User System Interaction program of the Technical University Eindhoven. The last year of this program was devoted to an e-learning research project at the Educational Department of the University Medical Centre Utrecht. This was the start of her career in the educational domain. From 2003-2009, she worked for IVLOS Institute of Education of Utrecht University and Cetis, Centre for educational innovation and ICT/Department Education and Research of Hogeschool Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. She currently works as senior researcher for the National centre of expertise for vocational education in the Netherlands (Expertisecentrum Beroepsonderwijs, ecbo).
