| Arjen Deij is working for the ETF since 1995, as a senior expert on qualifications systems. He has international experience with cooperation in higher education and vocational education. Before he came to ETF he worked in the team that developed the Tempus programme. He began his career in Nuffic, the public foundation for international cooperation in Higher Education in the Netherlands. He led the ETF work on occupational standards fifteen years ago, and worked on strengthening the role of stakeholders from the world of work in Central Asia, Romania and recently in Azerbaijan. |

He worked with the Vocational Qualifications Authority in Turkey in its start up phase, and worked for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in the UK. He was a member of working group that developed the EQF and later in the cluster on learning outcomes, and in the EQF Advisory Group. He has been involved in the development of the qualifications frameworks in Romania, England, Wales and Northern Ireland (on secondment from ETF at QCA) and Turkey, Kazakhstan. Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Azerbaijan. He is a member of ETF’s Community of Practice on Qualifications, where he also follows qualifications systems reforms world wide. He is a regular contributor to the Qualifications Platform, and has been working on thematic studies on standards, qualifications, institution building and the implementation of qualifications frameworks for ETF. |
