Gabriele Pessl is Junior Researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the department of Sociology. For five years, she has participated in several research projects on education and training, disadvantaged youth and early school leaving and in the area of basic skills, including evaluation of policy measures and programs. She currently participates in the Cedefop Study on the role of VET in reducing early leaving from education and training.
Gabriele Pessl holds a master in Sociology and a master in African Studies, both from the University of Vienna. At the University of Vienna she is engaged as a lecturer for qualitative social research focusing inequalities in the education system.
