 Professor Gerald Burke

Professor Gerald Burke is Executive Director of the Centre for
the Economics of Education and Training (CEET), a joint initiative
of Monash University in Melbourne and the Australian Council for
Education Research (ACER). His research interests are education
and employment and the finance of education. He has been
appointed a member of Skills Australia, a body established in 2008
to provide advice to the Australian Government on Australia's
emerging workforce development and skill needs. He is also a
member of the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority,
a state body concerned with accreditation of courses and quality
assurance of education and training providers. From 2004 to 2007
he was Chair of the Victorian Qualifications Authority and ex officio
a member of the Victorian Learning and Employment Skills
Commission and of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment
Authority.
