Claudio Demartini, born in Turin in 1955, graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1979 at the Politecnico di Torino. After entrepreneurial experiences in electronic/computer sector, in 1987 he received a Ph.D in Computer and Systems Engineering. Academic researcher since 1990, became full professor in 1994 at the University of Udine, backing again at Politecnico in 1995. His scientific interests include distributed systems, wired and wireless computer networks, communications protocols, software engineering, formal specification techniques, semantic web, projects management and logistic systems.Claudio Demartini authored several publications on international technical/scientific magazines, being co-author of a book on computer networks. From 1998 to 2003 he was a member of the National Committee for the Higher Technical Education and Training, as University representative. From 2003 he is in charge as Vice-Dean of the Industrial Engineering and Management School of the Politecnico di Torino. From 2005 he is also Vice-Rector of Special Projects in the same institution, member of the National Committee for the Registry Office of the University Students and member of the Regional Committee for Higher Education in Piemonte.
Since 2008 he is also member of the Commission for the Reorganization of the Technical and Professional Education of the Ministry of Public Education.
