| Aline Jürges joined the Commission’s DG Education and Culture in December 2000 after passing a Commission competition for European Public Administration. She held different positions in the DG, including project manager for the unit dealing with the mainstreaming of good project results in the area of vocational training and the school education unit. She then joined the policy unit on vocational training in 2007 where she was primarily involved in social issues, work-based learning in initial VET and managing the Advisory Committee on Vocational Training, one of the Vocational training unit's main stakeholders. Prior to joining the Commission, she worked for different industry/business associations, including as Press Officer for the American Chamber of Commerce where she was in charge of the media and press relations with the Brussels-based press.
She also worked as Information Officer and editor at the United Nations Office, Vienna and was a rapporteur on the UN Human Rights Conference in 1993. |
