VET in Europe - Country reports are a product of the VET in Europe project and review vocational education and training systems in Member States, Iceland and Norway. They are prepared and updated by ReferNet, according to a common structure provided by Cedefop.

Understanding national VET systems, their characteristics, developments and priorities is a key element in different levels of the VET coordination and development process. It mayalso bring additional ideas and examples of good practice.

History of the VET in Europe - Country reports
Cedefop’s initiative of providing comparable information in a user friendly, electronic way dates back to 2002, when the Refernet network was established. Since then many reports were published in the framework of short thematic overviews and detailed analyses, as well as transversal studies:

- Short descriptions are produced for the countries holding the EU-Council presidency;
- Structures of education, vocational training and adult education systems in Europe prepared by the Eurydice network in cooperation with Cedefop's Refernet;
- Spotlights with concise country information are available from 2013.
Until 2010 Cedefop maintained a database with national information on VET. This database can be accessed from here.
