Description
The 2026 European Commission guidelines are an update to the 2022 Guidelines designed for teachers working in primary and secondary education levels, with little to no prior experience with digital literacy or disinformation.
The update further enhances the initial guidelines with new sections on generative AI, social media use, preparing learners to recognise fake news and digital manipulation, as well as recommendations for school leaders and policymakers.
The aim is to help teachers better understand disinformation and how to address it in the classroom, build digital literacy classrooms and help students become digital citizens.
