The success of current reforms in vocational education and training depends largely on the people responsible for transforming policy into practice. Cedefop’s latest working paper argues that we need to better understand how leadership can help implement reforms and secure the quality of vocational education and training.
As Europe embarks on a new strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth (Europe 2020), Cedefop’s new policy report, A bridge to the future: European policy for vocational education and training 2002-10 looks at how the Copenhagen process for enhanced cooperation in vocational education and training has affected vocational education and training reform over the past eight years. The report was launched at the ministerial meeting of the Belgian presidency in Bruges on 7 December.

The latest report in Cedefop’s research series shows how vocational education and training help to sustain economic development, encourage innovation and productivity in companies, provide the skills that employers and employees need for economic development, and promote active ageing and social inclusion.
