In cooperation with Cedefop’s Research Support Centre, the VET Toolkit for tackling early leaving now offers to their users a direct access to a large number of relevant publications on early leaving from VET, through two sets of tool bibliographies from Cedefop: the ​VET-Bib – Cedefop’s bibliographic database and the ​Summon – Cedefop’s discovery tool.

In cooperation with Cedefop’s Research Support Centre, the VET Toolkit for tackling early leaving now offers to their users a direct access to a large number of relevant publications on early leaving from VET, through two sets of tool bibliographies from Cedefop:

Cedefop’s official bibliographical database, VET-Bib, is used to retrieve entries relevant to a certain topic, which in this case is early leaving from VET. The retrieval exercise is based on three keywords related to the topic: educational dropout, training dropout and school leaving; all of them in the context of VET and for publications from 2010 to date. The bibliography on early leaving from VET from VET-Bib can be found here.

Cedefop’s discovery tool, Summon, allows navigation through essential scientific information and open access journals from major sources selected by Cedefop, while mostly emphasising in academic publications. In this scenario, results are retrieved focusing on the ones that are accessible in open access formats and are peer-reviewed. The bibliography on early leaving from VET from Summon can be found here.

The results provided by these two bibliographies are updated automatically every time Cedefop’s Research Support Centre catalogues a new publication under those terms.

These two new access points further enrich the broad database available in the resources section of the VET Toolkit for tackling early leaving, providing to its users with more than 220 resources including successful VET practices from countries across Europe. The aim of this Europe-wide toolkit is twofold: on one hand, is helping young people at risk of dropping out from education and training  to remain and qualify in upper secondary education; and on the other hand, in helping early leavers to reintegrate into education or training and the labour market.
