The College of Europe is well known for having kept apace, since its foundation, with the great changes which have taken place in the field of European integration.

The recently refocused Lisbon strategy has been one of the most significant developments in the EUs recent agenda, given its role in stimulating economic and social reforms in Europe.

Today, ongoing social reforms raise some doubts about the traditional positions and views held by social actors. New partnerships amongst them may lead to more creativity in the search for sustainable reforms whilst maintaining social cohesion.

During this one-day conference a high quality team of speakers, including academics, politicians and policy makers from International and European Institutions, practitioners, will analyse the roles and responsibilities of social actors in implementing their respective missions in the framework of the Lisbon strategy.
