On 12 and 13 December 2012 the European Commission (DG Education and Culture) and the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop) are organising a joint conference in Brussels on "Adult learning – Spotlight on investment".
In view of the challenges set out in the Europe 2020 strategy, the importance of adult learning is obvious. However, with the impact of the crisis on public budgets and the expected demographic development, investment in adult learning can be difficult to secure. This conference will take a look at recent evidence of benefits of adult learning, as well as research concerning the different possibilities to finance it.
The conference gathers policy makers, experts, social partners and other stakeholders to discuss investment in adult learning, and to identify next steps in this field.
The conference starts on Wednesday 12 December 2012 at 09:30 at the hotel Husa President Park and ends on Thursday 13 December 2012 at 14:30.
