Teachers have an important role to play in the quality of schools. New (policy) initiatives are therefore regularly launched in the Netherlands to strengthen teachers’ professionalism.
Participants in Cedefop’s conference on tackling skills mismatch agreed that Europe needs to implement policy initiatives on developing work-based learning as an answer to rising youth unemployment.
The guidelines are intended for use by trainers of workplace instructors. The Finnish National Board of Education recommends that as many people as possible whose roles involve workplace instruction should be able to participate in training for workplace instructors. Workplace instructor training promotes the abilities of people to function as instructors and develop their own work. The training programme is suitable for training both workplace instructors and apprenticeship trainers.
