Peer Review as an instrument of Quality Assurance is prevalent in Higher Education but its use in Vocational Education and Training (VET) has so far been marginal. In the LEONARDO Project "Peer Review in initial VET" (2004-2007), a European Peer Review procedure for VET was developed and tested in 15 transnational Peer Reviews in eight European countries in 2006. Interest in the methodology Peer Review has led to the follow-up project "Peer Review Extended" (2007) which aims to further develop the procedure, to sound out its contribution to the CQAF, and to test Peer Review in another three countries.

The conference aims to share good practice from the two LEONARDO projects and to investigate the further potential of Peer Review as a new and promising methodology for external evaluation of VET Providers throughout Europe.
