The European Commission in cooperation with the European Parliament, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) and the Committee of the Regions is organising on 7 and 8 December 2009 a restructuring forum dedicated to Sectors' New Skills for New Jobs.

The objectives of the forum is to present, promote and discuss the recently published 18 sector-based studies that look at emerging and future skill needs up to 2020 and to launch a discussion on how to reinforce and promote stronger collaboration at European level in the field of skills anticipation, focussing on the sectoral approach.

Ms. Alena Zukersteinova, Cedefop project manager, co-organises and will participate in the workshop, 1 "Links between Cedefop's quantitative analysis on skills and the qualitative approach of the sectoral studies" and Mr. Manfred Tessaring, Head of Area Research and policy analysis at Cedefop, will chair the workshop 2 "Transport and : an example of updating and upgrading skills in the context of lifelong learning".
