Cooperation on qualifications and quality frameworks is a global priority. To address the importance of quality improvement at this level, the Regional Cooperation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (RECOTVET) organised the 10th Regional Policy Dialogue on TVET, on 14 and 15 November, in Yangon, Myanmar.
Cedefop actively contributed to the policy learning forum (PLF) on the conceptualisation and use of learning outcomes, in Johannesburg, on 24 and 25 June.
The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) is an informal meeting between states in the two continents. Cedefop, ETF, UNESCO and UNESCO’s Institute for Lifelong learning co-drafted the 4th edition of the global Inventory of national and regional qualifications framework and presented findings at the 7th ASEM education ministers' meeting, in Bucharest on 14 May.
Well-defined learning outcomes (LO) are considered to be crucial in many aspects of vocational education and training (VET), such as in VET promotion, supporting learners to plan their learning and asses their progress, and transnational mobility. The project See the goal: in-company learning outcomes as video recordings (2016-18) used video technology to apply the learning outcomes approach in some VET programmes.
Cedefop participated in the 10th certification and accreditation working group (CAWG) meeting, organised by the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) in Malta on 18 and 19 July. This was an opportunity to support the work of the group on the development of occupational standards for asylum officials.
European and international experts took part in Cedefop’s 3rd policy learning forum (PLF) on learning outcomes in vocational education and training (VET), in cooperation with UNESCO, in Thessaloniki on 21 and 22 June.
The third Cedefop policy learning forum (PLF) on defining and writing learning outcomes will take place in Thessaloniki on 21-22 June 2018 in cooperation with the European Commission and UNESCO.
Cedefop has just published a European handbook on defining, writing and applying learning outcomes, addressed to individuals and institutions actively involved in the process.
National qualifications frameworks (NQFs) make a difference to people's lives but more research is needed to measure their impact, according to some of the conclusions of the peer learning conference organised by Cedefop, the European Commission and Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) in Thessaloniki on 9 and 10 November.
Conference documents, observations from international experts and summaries of discussions from the second policy learning forum on learning outcomes on learning outcomes for vocational education and training (VET) qualifications on 13 and 14 October 2016, have just been published.
