The European Union's employment package, launched in 2012, sees transition to a greener economy as the area offering the greatest job potential. But there are also concerns that costs of combatting climate change and Europe’s transition to a low-carbon economy will in fact reduce job growth. A new Cedefop study, Skills for a low-carbon Europe, explored these scenarios and shows that a sustainable and energy-efficient economy can be achieved at the same time as employment growth.
