At the 2018 Euroskills Budapest competition, a single Brussels resident represented the successful Belgian delegation: Omar Lo, a young political refugee, had benefitted from training offered through one of the existing integration programmes set up in Brussels.

In March, Skills Iceland held its biannual VET fair for primary education learners, and a national exhibition in 30 different trades for current VET learners. Primary education learners attending received information from 33 different VET and tertiary-level schools and were encouraged to test their skills in masonry, hair styling, carpentry, catering, blood pressure checking, car repairing, etc., while VET learners demonstrated skills acquired through learning. The event was supported by the education minister.
Icelandic universities saw a 45% increase in applications for teacher education during 2019, following the introduction of several measures.
The results of an Erasmus+ programme, implemented by the Regional Agricultural, Technical and Vocational School for Education and Training of Ammochostos/Avgorou, completed in early 2019, were recently disseminated by the national authority for the Erasmus+ programme.
