Study on monitoring sectoral employment
The study presents a comprehensive collection and a long-term analysis of key sectoral data with a view to identifying and monitoring sectoral employment developments and interdependencies.
The impact of the crisis is analysed for a representative set of sectors and Member States, paying special attention to flexicurity, skills, outsourcing and restructuring, labour productivity, technological change, etc.
The main objectives of the study are:
- to provide an overview of historical changes in sectoral employment,
- to analyse in depth recent developments in sectoral employment,
- to present an assessment of the direct and indirect impacts of the crisis and the measures implemented to mitigate its social effects on employment in selected sectors across MS,
- to highlight future employment challenges, acknowledging sectoral differentiation.
