These two events were part of the country review of the skills anticipation and matching system for Slovakia and organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.
The dissemination meeting (April 4) provided national stakeholders with an overview of the main findings of the country review. Cedefop presented the results of the wide stakeholder consultation it conducted since the review started in 2017 and provide information on how other countries deal with typical challenges in skills governance. High level national stakeholders engaged in a panel discussion to identify possibly policy responses that could help strengthen skills governance in Slovakia.
The workshop following the dissemination meeting built on Cedefop’s policy learning forum held on June 14 and 15 2018, where the need to develop and implement tracer studies and to reflect on the ways how to implement employer surveys was highlighted by Slovak participants. The aim of the one and a half day workshop was to give a practical introduction to the implementation of these surveys and illustrate their value for education and training, skills and labour market policy. It provided theoretical and practical expertise needed to carry out tracer studies and employer surveys and illustrate good practice based on examples from European countries. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the governance of tracer studies and employers surveys, in terms of set-up, operating processes and effective use of results.
The workshop was tailored to an audience of Slovak stakeholders and facilitated by national and international experts. The format was interactive and participants were asked to work in groups to apply what they learned. The ambition was to develop action plans which outlined in practical terms how to go about implementing tracer studies and employer surveys in Slovakia and how the results they deliver could be used to strengthen skills governance in the country.
This event was restricted to invited participants.
