Youth Conference

The Youth Event, hosted by the Welsh Assembly Government, will be held in Cardiff over 24-26 October 2005. The event will bring together 103 young people from all EU member states, ETFA and Accession countries, and elsewhere.

The theme of the event is how young peoples participation in civic life contributes to the acquisition of skills and competencies, relevant to the work place, and can help combat social exclusion.

On 27 October the youth event delegates will be joined by Director Generals (Youth) from each member state for a joint conference focussing on the outcome of the youth event (the Cardiff Declaration) and future development of European youth policy.
