From 1 July to 31 December 2015, Luxembourg will occupy the rotating Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the twelfth time.

One of the Luxembourg Presidency's priorities is to put 'the citizen at the heart of the European project.' The Luxembourgish Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Sport have published a list of events in education and training that are to take place under Luxembourg’s Presidency:

  • meeting of the high-level working group on education and training – 18 and 19 June 2015;
  • symposium on 'Staying on track: countering dropping out and promoting success at school' – 9 and 10 July 2015;
  • meeting of the Bologna follow-up group (BFUG) – 8 and 9 September 2015;
  • conference on 'Diversity and multilingualism in education and reception of very young children' – 10 and 11 September 2015;
  • meeting of the European lifelong guidance policy network (ELGPN) – 28 and 29 September 2015;
  • meeting of directors of Erasmus+/youth agencies – 13 to 16 October 2015;
  • hearing of young Europeans on 'Inclusive education: take action! Luxembourg recommendations' – 15 and 16 October 2015;
  • conference on 'Family learning: good practices across Europe' – 22 and 23 October 2015;
  • meeting of head teachers – 26 and 27 October 2015;
  • seminar: Europea: agricultural education in Europe – 5 to 7 November 2015; 
  • meeting of vocational training directors – 16 and 17 November 2015;
  • conference on 'Youth guarantee: a first assessment' – 17 and 18 November 2015; 
  • meeting of directors of higher education – 24 and 25 November 2015;
  • formal meeting of the Education Committee – 3 and 4 December 2015.
