An exhibition of the winning and runner-up photo stories of this year’s #CedefopPhotoAward competition opened at the Thessaloniki Cinema Museum on 3 November.

The exhibition showcases photo stories from vocational education and training (VET) experiences of VET learners in the European Union, including the two winning entries from Lithuania and Ireland.

It is organised in the framework of the 58th Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF) and will be open to the public until 30 November.

TIFF General Director Elise Jalladeau welcomed the winners of the second prize from the Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre in Ireland, who had earlier visited Cedefop and were guests at the festival opening.

Cedefop Governing Board Chair Tatjana Babrauskiene opened the exhibition, stressing the success of the competition for the second year running. In total 140 teams consisting of 383 VET learners took part, representing over 70 VET providers from 20 EU Member States.

The opening was attended by Cedefop’s Head of Communication Gerd-Oskar Bausewein, Head of Department for Skills and Labour Market Pascaline Descy, festival officials, and 50 students and teachers from the Oraiokastro vocational school, who contributed to the competition's promo video.

The #CedefopPhotoAward is part of the European vocational skills week 2017 and the winners of the first prize from Lithuania will receive their award at the week’s closing ceremony in Brussels on 24 November.
