Croatian Presidency Conference Teachers and Trainers for the Future: Towards the ‘New Normal’

Croatian Presidency Conference Teachers and Trainers for the Future: Towards the ‘New Normal’

The conference on the Teachers and Trainers for the Future is the central event of the Croatian Presidency in the field of education and training, co-funded by the European Commission.

Teachers and trainers, in all sectors and at all levels of education and training, are indispensable carriers of all the developments in education and training, as well as an essential driving force for countering the crisis in education and training. They have a crucial role in assuring that individuals of all backgrounds and ages have access to quality education and necessary support in completing their degrees, so that they can live, learn and work in the world of today, as well as create and lead changes in the future. Building on the Council Conclusions on European Teachers and Trainers for the Future and the Conclusions on countering the COVID-19 crisis in education and training during Croatia’s Presidency, the Conference presented an opportunity to further explore the challenges faced by teachers, as well as possible policy responses in this respect.

Irene Psifidou, Cedefop expert leading Cedefop's project on Teachers and trainers’ professional development was a keynote speaker in the Thematic Session 2 – The evolving roles of teachers and trainers in VET and Adult learning. She presented the challenges and support for VET Teachers and Trainers in Europe.

You may watch the video of her presentation below together with the conference website and material.
