MayTom May is a researcher at City & Guilds, the largest provider of work-based qualifications in the UK (www.cityandguilds.com). He has previously worked for the UK Government’s Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency in education research. Previous projects and reports have included: 2007 ECVET Reflector, 2007 The Shift to Learning Outcomes, the 2006 joint Commission and Council Education and Training 2010 Programme progress report and the 2004 Achieving the Lisbon goal: the contribution of VET. He has also worked on the UK branch of ReferNet. Interests include general and vocational curriculum and qualification policy development as well as international student surveys. He has an MA in Comparative education and is a research associate at the Institute of Education, London.
