The European Commission has just published a new brochure on the European Alliance for Apprenticeships featuring examples of successful and inspiring apprenticeships policy initiatives and projects across Europe.
Ministers from the European Union Member States, candidate countries, Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein gather in Riga, Latvia on 22 June to endorse the new medium-term deliverables for vocational education and training (VET), known as the Riga conclusions.
On 25 and 26 May, members of the country reviews steering groups from Malta, Lithuania, Greece, Italy and Slovenia met in Thessaloniki for a policy-learning exercise. In June 2014, the county authority of Østfold, with support from the Norwegian Directorate for Education and Training, organised Østfold’s largest job interview. The event gathered 200 vocational education and training (VET) students and 100 representatives from enterprises in the county. In two days about 570 job interviews were conducted between students and enterprises.
The international computer and information literacy study (ICILS) examines outcomes of student computer and information literacy (CIL) across countries. CIL refers to an individual's ability to use computers to investigate, create, and communicate to participate effectively at home, at school, in the workplace, and in the community.
The action Focus on workmanship (Focus op Vakmanschap) 2011-15 is paving the way towards attractive and more challenging vocational education and training (VET) and ensuring that VET education will continue to play its important role in society and economy in the Netherlands.
