From 14 to 18 October 2019, the fourth edition of the European VET Skills Week took place across Europe. In Italy, Inapp, the National Erasmus+ Agency for VET, promoted the initiative nationally and locally, organising dissemination and information events in Rome. This was a great opportunity to spread knowledge about the Erasmus+ programme and provide participants with the opportunity to share their experiences on the positive impact of transnational mobility projects.

It included a nationwide survey by the Ministry for Innovation and Technology and the National Office of VET and adult learning in 2018/19 to assess basic competences of VET learners and provide them with customised support.

A long-standing demand for raising the quality of guidance provision in Greece had finally been fulfilled. The National Organisation for Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP), the responsible body of the education ministry, followed a specific procedure for the certification of the profession by setting professional standards and requirements for those working as career guidance counsellors.

Major tech companies sign collaboration agreements for universal access to digital training programmes

The State Public Employment Service of Spain (SEPE), the State Foundation for Training in Employment (Fundae) and several large technology companies signed agreements in autumn 2019 to create an important package of training resources in digital skills, publicly available completely free of charge. The companies included Amazon, Cisco, Cloudera, everis, Accenture Foundation, Telefónica Foundation, Google, Huawei, IBM, LPI-Linux Professional Institute, Oracle, and SAP.
