eTwinning is a framework for schools to collaborate on the Internet with partner schools in other European countries. It is the main action of the European Union's eLearning programme.
A new and further developed eTwinning portal was launched at the end of September. The portal features a new graphical interface and restructured eTwinning portal to allow schools in Europe to eTwin more easily.
In the first year of eTwinning, many schools have successfully carried out eTwinning projects. To reflect this, the new eTwinning portal has a greater focus on projects and experiences. Among the features, an eTwinning gallery showcasing projects of good practice was launched. Projects are selected by the National Support Services (NSS). Also among the new addition to the portal is a description of education systems in other countries to better prepare schools to eTwin with the necessary background information.
