In the past three years (2003-2006), 13 countries have hosted study visits (26 in total) focusing on the role of higher education institutions in providing vocational training. The aim of the synthesis seminar held at Cedefop on 19-20 March (The role of higher education institutions in providing vocational education and training) is to summarise the experience of these visits and make proposals for the future development of this theme within the Study Visits Programme.
The focus of the seminar is on analysing policy issues and identifying stakeholder benefits. The seminar will also look at case studies of vocational pathways in higher education and identify best practices in this field. Seminar participants a total of 46 from 22 countries are former study visit participants, representatives of host organisations and national coordinators.
