Education Ministerial Conference: 12 - 13 July 2005, London

The Informal Ministerial Meeting provided an opportunity for Education Ministers from the EU Member States and the candidate, accession and EEA countries, along with the European Commissioner for Education, to look at the impact of education and skills on the Lisbon agenda, with a particular focus on 3 main areas:

  • the relationship of skills to productivity;
  • sector skills development;
  • and tackling skills gaps through easing mobility, including improved understanding of qualifications and through a forthcoming Commission proposal for a European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
